What is Scalp Micropigmentation?

Scalp Micropigmentation has been around for over 10 years now and is fast becoming the preferred hair loss treatment for men and women.

SMP is a non-invasive treatment that uses detailed micro-needles to deposit pigment into the scalp.
For men starting to thin, or balding, we can give you the look of a full headed buzz cut or add density to camouflage thinning areas.
For Females experiencing alopecia or thinning, we can add fullness throughout.
The pigments we use are matched to suit your hair colour and complexion.

Marc trained in Scalp Micropigmentation in 2016 and is highly passionate about transforming both men and women’s confidence in the way they look and feel.

Marc ran his own health and fitness business for over 25 years in Melbourne with a background as an elite swimmer and has always had a passion for helping people feel good about themselves.

He knows first hand the positive, lasting lifelong impact of the SMP hair loss treatment after undergoing his own hair loss experience in his early 20’s and through SMP treatment was able to combat thinning hair and conceal a large post-operative scar.

Through an initial consultation with Marc he will be able to personalise a treatment program for you to achieve your own goals. Marc’s own experiences make him second to none in understanding your desired outcomes.

How it works?

Initial Consult

To start, our practitioner, Marc, will need to assess your hair loss situation to determine the best solution. The easiest way to do this is to book a free 30-min consultation with Marc who will guide you from beginning to end, with a customised treatment plan that WE will choose together.

Session 1

The 1st session is used to lay the foundation of replicated hair follicles. After the first session, you will start to notice a difference.

Session 2 & 3

The 2nd and 3rd sessions are used to add additional layers of density to create the appearance of full, short hair, and eliminate any sign of hair loss. We can make minor adjustments to the hairline in these sessions as well.

Post Sessions

After your final treatment, Marc will provide you with aftercare instructions and you won’t need to come back for around 4-6 years. That doesn’t mean we don’t want to hear from you ! We pride ourselves on client satisfaction and we’d love for you to keep in touch with us and even send us pictures of events in your life.

FAQ's

Is SMP like a tattoo?

Yes and no. By definition, a tattoo is a permanent mark or design made on the skin by a process of ingraining an indelible pigment into the dermis. Similarly, SMP involves the application of pigments; however, the process and the results are significantly different. The imprint of a single hair stubble replication isn’t applied as deeply as a tattoo. Unlike traditional tattooing which consists of lines and colour shading, the SMP process is performed one impression at a time with specialised needles and pigments designed to duplicate thousands of tiny hair follicles, with upwards of 30000 required for full scalp coverage.

What guarantee that SMP treatment will give me the desired results?

Everybody’s skin and body react differently to pigment implantation thus affecting the final colour and results. To ensure the best possible outcome you have the option of having a small test patch performed in a discreet location, generally at the edge of and within the existing hair line towards the back of the head. This test patch will be done prior to your treatment using pigment colour-matched to your existing hair so you are able to see the results that will be achieved. Adjustments can be made if deemed necessary and following

your approval, the procedure completed. Should you decide to not proceed with the treatment the test patch will not be visable to the uninformed onlooker, saving any embarrassment. We also provide a 12 months warranty should you experience any fading or unevenness.

Will SMP cause my own hair to grow back?

No it won’t, however it has been reported that the blood flow to the scalp has seemed improved in certain individuals due to the effect of the needle penetrating the skin. This may, and we emphasize may have a positive effect on your own hair growth but there are no guarantees.

How long will the SMP process take?

Most clients will require 2 -3 treatments in total depending on the size of the area requiring coverage.

Each treatment will take anywhere from 2-3 hours and the treatments are each a week apart.

Will I require ongoing treatment?

No.. well, maybe. What we mean by this is that the treatment is permanent and maintenance free, however everyone’s skin and genetic makeup is different, and these differences can mean that one person will experience very little if any fading whereas the next person may require a darkening procedure after a few years. One of the major factors influencing these possible colour changes is sun exposure as it can influence the long-term stability of the pigments, so we advise the use of high factor sun block to minimise the likelihood of having to undergo a future touch up.
