Scalp Micro · Gold Coast · SMP for Women

The look of fuller, thicker hair — no surgery, no daily effort.

A discreet treatment that adds density between your existing hair, so thinning parts, widening crowns and postpartum shedding become undetectable.
You’re Not Imagining It

Hair loss looks different on women — and so should the solution.

A wider part. More scalp catching the light under salon lighting. A ponytail that feels thinner than it used to. It’s rarely total baldness — it’s a slow loss of density that’s easy for others to miss, but impossible for you not to notice.
What SMP Actually Is

Density, not a hairline.

Scalp micropigmentation for men typically recreates a hairline on a shaved head. For women, it works differently: fine, layered deposits of pigment are placed between your existing hair, adding the appearance of thousands of extra hair follicles underneath. Nothing is shaved, cut or trimmed — your natural hair sits over the top and the effect blends in completely. It’s a visual illusion of density, built with a technique adapted specifically for female hair loss patterns rather than borrowed from the male treatment.
Why Women Choose It

Non-surgical

No grafts, no incisions, no recovery time away from normal life.

Natural-looking

Blends into your existing hair colour and density, not a wig or topper.

Low maintenance

No special products or routines — wash, style and swim as normal.

Works with your hair

Keep your length and style; nothing is shaved or altered.

Multiple causes

Suited to hormonal thinning, alopecia, traction loss and scarring.

Long-lasting

Generally 2–3 years. A short top-up is around 25% of the original cost.

Frequently asked questions

Does SMP hurt?

99% of clients rate SMP as virtually painless. Most describe it as a light tapping or tickling sensation — nothing like a traditional tattoo. Numbing options are available if you’d prefer one.

Not at all — that’s the beauty of SMP. The technique is designed to sit between your existing hair, so the result reads as your own hair looking thicker, not as a visible treatment.

No. Nothing is shaved, cut or shortened. SMP for women works beneath your existing hair, and you keep styling, colouring and wearing it exactly as you do now.
Generally 2–3 years. It fades gradually and evenly, which won’t be noticeable for at least 2 years. Your touch-up service is normally only one short session at around 25% of the original cost.
Women’s density typically falls in the $1,350–$1,750 range, depending on the area treated. At Scalp Micro we offer unlimited sessions if needed and a 1-year satisfaction guarantee. Your fixed quote is agreed at your free consultation.
SMP works across hormonal thinning, alopecia areata, traction alopecia, postpartum shedding and scarring. Marc will assess your scalp at the consultation and tell you honestly whether it’s the right fit.
No — SMP restores the appearance of density rather than treating the cause. It pairs well with any medical treatment you’re already on.
