Scar Camouflage SMP

Camouflage Scalp Scars, Naturally

Whether it’s a hair-transplant strip scar, a surgical line, or an old injury — scalp micropigmentation blends scar tissue back into your hair so it’s no longer the first thing you see.
When a Scar Keeps You From Going Short

Can SMP cover scars? Absolutely — both natural scars and scars from a hair transplant.

Scar tissue doesn’t grow hair, so it shows — a smooth, shiny line or patch that catches the light and forces you to keep your hair long to hide it. Scar camouflage SMP deposits pigment into and around the scar to replicate follicles, breaking up the contrast so the area blends into the surrounding hair — and you can finally wear it short.
Scars We Camouflage

Four types. All treatable.

01

FUT / strip transplant scars

The linear donor scar across the back of the head. The most common scar we treat.

02

FUE dot scarring

Scattered pin-dot marks from follicular extraction, blended into the density around them.

03

Surgical scars

From neurosurgery, cysts or other procedures on the scalp.

04

Injury & burn scars

Accident, trauma and burn-related scalp scarring.
Why SMP Works on Scars

We’re not erasing it. We’re hiding it in plain sight.

Scalp Micro has had hundreds of referrals from Gold Coast hair transplant clinics for exactly this work.
What to Expect
Scar tissue behaves differently to healthy scalp — it can be firmer, shinier, or take pigment unevenly. That’s why scar work is done carefully and conservatively, testing how the area holds pigment and building coverage gradually for the most natural, even result.
3 sessions are required, each around 1.5–2 hours, with a 5 day minimum between sessions — plus unlimited additional sessions if your scar needs them, at no extra cost.
The Process

Assessed. Tested. Blended.

01

Scar assessment

We examine the scar’s type, age, texture and colour and set realistic expectations honestly.

02

Test & build

Pigment is layered patiently, adapting to how your scar tissue responds rather than forcing a result.

03

Blend to finish

The area is matched to your surrounding hair for a seamless, understated result you can wear short.

Questions Before You Book

Frequently asked questions

Can SMP cover scars?

Absolutely! Both natural scars and scars from a hair transplant.
Most can be improved. Some very raised, shiny or recent scars respond better than others — we’ll tell you honestly at the consult.
The goal is to make it far less visible and blend it in, not erase the tissue itself.
Sensation varies across scar tissue, but 99% of clients rate SMP as virtually painless.
Scars generally need to be fully healed and matured first — we’ll advise on timing.
SMP is a great alternative if cost is your concern, but equally is a great complement to any hair transplant and can be done either before or after.
